How do I join a club?
Open a claimed club page and choose Join club or Request to join. Open clubs add you immediately, approval clubs send a request to the organizers, and invite-only clubs require a current invitation. Unclaimed directory pages can be followed, but membership opens only after a real organizer takes control.
What is the difference between joining and following?
Joining makes you a club member and can unlock member-only areas. Following is a public-interest signal that helps you keep track of a listing without granting membership or access to private club content.
What counts as a next meeting?
ClubsNearby labels a next meeting only when a public event has recurrence evidence. A one-off class, certification, or fundraiser may still be useful, but it does not prove the club meets again.
How do RSVPs work?
Open the gathering page to see the available RSVP path. A ClubsNearby RSVP may require sign-in, and an imported gathering may send you to the organizer's website instead. When RSVP by email is offered on an eligible gathering, use the verification and management links sent to that address. You can cancel a confirmed ClubsNearby RSVP from the same gathering page.
How do I claim a club listing?
Use Claim this listing on the club page. We verify the organizer through the listing contact before granting control. After claiming, complete the profile and publish the next recurring meeting.
What can club organizers manage?
Owners and admins can manage the public page, members and approvals, invitations and shareable links, recurring gatherings and RSVPs, announcements, sponsors, and paid gathering controls. Community Home, member onboarding, recurring dues, and Club Money are in early access and appear only for participating clubs. Exact controls depend on your role.
How do brand sponsorships work?
Owners and admins choose whether a club appears in the public Brands directory under Manage → Page → Sponsors. The directory shows public club facts, never member contact information. A brand can submit a sponsorship brief for ClubsNearby to review, but the organizer decides whether to continue. A brief does not create an offer, agreement, payment, or permission to contact members.
Who can see club conversations?
Member-only conversations are an early-access feature for participating clubs and are available only to active members where those controls appear. If you leave a club or an organizer removes you, access to member-only conversation history ends. Announcements are organizer-authored updates and may have a different audience from a member discussion.
How does Community Home publishing work?
Community Home is in early access. For participating clubs, owners and admins can compose and preview it under Manage → Page. Draft changes stay private until they are published. Public blocks are for visitors; member-only blocks require an active club membership.
How do I report a safety concern?
When signed in, use Report on the club page, or use the Safety form for an incident at a meeting or involving someone you met through ClubsNearby. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Where do I manage privacy, blocked users, or my data?
Use Settings → Privacy for profile visibility, blocked users, and muted users. Use Settings → Data to download a JSON or CSV copy of your account or schedule account deletion. Account deletion has a 30-day cancellation window.
